My initial thought was maybe the Sandisk SSD was going bad or my cables are bad but I've switched out and tried numerous USB C cables and have the same issues. More times than not I am unable to eject the SSD, have to force eject a lot The new setup is a MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021) w/ M1 Max and 64GB RAM.ĭelayed connection recognition (takes a surprisingly longĬonsistent errors when trying to import from SD Card to external SSD through Lightroom (see here) (might be related to the random disconnects issue above) I'm coming from a 13-Inch 2020 Macbook Pro (1.4GHz Quad-Core i5, 8GB RAM) running Big Sur (11.5) and never experienced any of the issues I am now with my external hard drive connectivity. Anyone having problems with connecting an external SSD hard drive? I have a SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD that has worked flawlessly the last two plus years for all my photography needs on my previous system.
